HOUSE HOST

A Brody House host is present in the house daily (8am - 6pm) and available to help you with breakfast, ad hoc food requests, coffees, housekeeping or other requests. Outside of these hours guests can contact the team via WhatsApp or by calling the emergency phone number provided at check-in.

CHECKING IN AND OUT

We always strive to be flexible but, for the benefit of smooth operations and to ensure all our guests have the best experience possible, apply these house rules:

Check-in: Check-in from 3pm. If you arrive after 6pm, please email us (reception@brody.house) and we will send you the late check-in procedure.

Check-out: Check-out needs to be done by 11am. Let us know if you need to depart before 8am so we can inform you of the early check-out procedure.

Late check-outs: This can be requested from the host and, schedules permitting, granted for a surcharge of €20 per hour.

FAMILY STAYS

Children: The artsy atmosphere at Brody House is best preserved as an adults only accommodation. We thank you for your understanding.

There is an extra linen charge of €40 per person/bed.

Pets: As much as we love animals, pets cannot stay at Brody House. Sorry!

OTHER INFORMATION

Wining, dining and cocktails: Longer term guests are afforded access to the house bar where you can play barman using the extensive stock available - we have more than 100 types of whisky alone! Ask our host if you wish to sample Hungarian wine or have a crack at making your own cocktails. We have ad hoc social and cultural gatherings for which participation is by invitation - ask our host if you’re interested in joining and they’ll advise what’s coming up and what you need to do to join the melee!

Storing luggage: We can hold your bags in our ground floor storage - just don’t forget our closing times!

No lift: Being in a heritage and protected building, Brody House has no lift or disabled access. The main 19th century staircase is quite benign and can be easily climbed - maybe now’s the time to bust out those long flowing ball gowns!

Housekeeping: All rooms are cleaned daily unless you specifically request not to be disturbed - let reception know or hang the relevant sign on the door handle. For ecological reasons, we won’t replace your linen/towels during your stay unless specifically requested or you are staying more than 4 days in a row.

Laundry services: If you are self-sufficient, ask the House Host for an iron and ironing board. If you want someone to do it for you, this can be done (a bit of notice is always preferred) and the service will be charged to your bill.

PARKING

There are two convenient and secure parking lots nearby: 8 Brody Sandor Street (50 m from the front door) or Pollack Garage (100 meters away).

TRANSPORT

Public transport: There are 2 nearby metro stations within a few minutes’ walk:

Astoria station (Metro 2 / the red line), trams and buses to Buda OR Kálvin tér (Metro 3 / the red line and Metro 4 / the blue line), trams and a direct airport bus (100 E).

Traveling by taxi: Bolt works well - we recommend you download their app- and you can pay by cash or card.
