For your sonic pleasure during Brody House birthday month aka ‘Nostalgic November’, we’re delighted to welcome back one of our fave singer-songwriters, ZÓRA, for her second private invite-only gig at Brody House on Thursday 14 November. ZÓRA spent the last month performing shows in Hungary, selling out venues like MÜPA and Kodály Centre, and we’re fortunate to catch her just before she returns to Los Angeles the following day!
Who is ZÓRA?
California born Zóra Urbányi splits her time between Los Angeles and her hometown, Budapest and has captivated audiences on both sides of the globe. She established a strong online presence to amass millions of streams and sell out shows in Hungary’s top concert venues and to be included in this year’s South by Southwest festival lineup in Austin. She was selected for a Fonogram Best New Talent award and recently featured in Forbes 30 under 30.
Check this video from ZÓRA’s maiden gig at Brody House last year. If you have not YET had the privilege of hearing her perform, dive into her signature deep tone and fiery intimate lyrics. Her songs revolve around avant-pop, alternative, and cinematic soundscapes, continuously bending the bounds of genre labels. Singing in both English and Hungarian, her personable and candid humour combined with soulful piano make for deep heartfelt and enchanting performances.
THIS song - Iszom a Bort - is fab so give it a listen and you will see why you need to RSVP to lock down your tickets without further delay!
