Sounds from My Diary | A concert composed by Gábor Jancsó

  • Brody House 10 Bródy Sándor utca Budapest, 1088 Hungary (map)

An intimate evening of original contemporary classical music for piano and string quartet, exploring personal stories of love, grief, memory, and self-discovery through composition.

Doors open: 6:00 PM
Concert starts: 8:00 PM

I am Gábor Jancsó, a musician and composer.

I have been writing a diary since childhood. Between the ages of six and thirteen, I wrote down almost everything, almost every day. Then, at thirteen, music found me. From that moment on, music began writing my story — and ever since, I have been telling my story through sound.

This evening, I invite you into this diary.

Breakups, nighttime walks, grief, joy, unfulfilled love, and the rugged — sometimes painful, yet beautiful — journey of self-discovery. These are stories that are often easier for me to express through notes than through words.

The concert will feature works and stories from the past six years, performed for piano and string quartet. The beauty of instrumental music is that everyone can hear something different in it, and perhaps you may recognise parts of your own story as well.
