ABOUT THE SHOW

Through drama, humor, powerful images and live piano performance, Dedication tells the story of a family fleeing the Nazis in war-torn Europe — and the lasting echoes of that history today.

Combining music from blues to Chopin with deeply personal storytelling, Roger explores inherited Holocaust trauma and the role of music in helping to live with wounds that never fully heal.

At the heart of the story is his uncle Norbert Stern, a brilliant young pianist murdered in Auschwitz at age 21. Drawn into the life of a relative he never knew, Roger develops an imagined relationship with his uncle through music and memory.

A powerful and deeply human story that is both extraordinary and relatable.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Dedication premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022, earning 4-star reviews and an overwhelming audience response.

The production has since toured internationally, including:

• A month-long run in London

• Off West End Theatre Award nomination (Best Performance Piece)

• Performances in Brussels, Berlin and cities across the United States

• A special performance at United Nations headquarters

Roger begins his 2026 European tour in Amsterdam before coming to Budapest and Hamburg.

POST-SHOW DISCUSSION

Every performance includes a panel discussion and Q&A. An opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the story, or share your own reflections.

A moving story of memory, music and survival — told through one pianist’s journey across generations.
